Surf Life Saving WA’s first ever U8 and U9 Little Nippers Carnival was a hit over the weekend, with over 400 eager Nippers joining in to compete!

Designed to give our youngest members the opportunity to experience surf sports in a competitive carnival environment it was great to see such an appetite for this type of competition with a huge turnout at Sorrento Beach on Sunday.
The day was perfect for our little Nippers, with hot and calm conditions and an awesome atmosphere. The event kicked off at 8am with 15 clubs joining in for the day’s events: the Board Race, Surf Race, Cameron Relay, Beach Sprints, Beach Flags and Beach Relay.

This event was all about participation for our Little Nippers and to prepare competitors for the coming Little Nippers State Championships, to be held in March.
All competitors were super excited to receive their participation ribbons on the day and it was great to have whole of family involvement with many parents jumping in to assists with the running of events on the day.

Another huge congratulations to all participants on the day and thank you to all clubs involved for their assistance.
The next Little Nippers Carnival Round 2 is being hosted at Champion Bay on Sunday, 28 January. The Event Program and details are available online.
