Secret Harbour SLSC played host to the 2018 SunSmart Short Board Riding Championships on Saturday, with conditions small, but clean for the athletes who competed.
Ten clubs took part in the day, with Trigg Island taking out the first stand alone SunSmart SLSWA Board Riding Championships with a nine point win over North Cottesloe.
Some of the stand out performances of the day included:
- Sam McGovern from North Cottesloe ripping his way to gold in the Under 19 Males and then backing it up with a silver in the Open;
- Troy Morgan from Sorrento had a great day out winning gold in the Open Male and 30-49 Males; and
- Mathilda Lipscombe from North Cottesloe surfed powerfully to take out the Open Female title.
The Open Teams event was a great way to finish the champs off, with the Line brothers from Cottesloe taking home the gold, while North Cottesloe taking home the silver.
