Trigg Island SLSC played host to the Surf Life Saving WA Board Riding Championships for 2023 on Saturday 13th May with tough, stormy conditions for the competitors across, both short and longboard disciplines.
Eight clubs took part in the day, with Trigg Island taking out the Championship Club Flag with Mullaloo and Fremantle coming in second and third respectively.
Some of the standout performances of the day included:
- Alan Albert from Trigg Island ripping his way to gold in the Open Male Short Board, Open Male Long Board and then completing a hattrick with a Gold in the 30-39yrs Male Short Board;
- Elana Mulvay from Trigg Island had a great day out winning gold in the Open Female Long board and backed it up with a Bronze in the Open Female Short Board; and
- Bo Watters, also from Trigg Island showed strength in tricky conditions to take out the U13 Male Short Board title.
