With points tight, more than 250 athletes from 14 clubs competed at Trigg Beach this morning for the second round of the SunSmart WA Surf League. Athletes were greeted with a light easterly wind and small swell, but the 42 degree forecast and blistering sun proved a challenge.
Going into round 2, North Cottesloe proved to be the dominant force, winning by just 13 points, finishing on a grand total of 644.
Not far behind was Trigg Island who put up a good fight and gave it their all, right up until the end, placing second on 631 points.
It was neck and neck between Sorrento SLSC and City of Perth SLSC with only a handful of points between them going into the final events. Spectators were waiting patiently to see what club would take that third place position. Overall City of Perth came through pushing Sorrento into fourth place with just 8 points separating them.
A huge thanks to our naming rights partner, Healthway, promoting the SunSmart message, and our event officials.
