Locations for the Fuel to Go & Play WA Country Championships and Country Carnival have been confirmed, with a return to Bunbury for the 2027 event, before heading south to Denmark in 2028, and Esperance in 2029.

The annual event, traditionally held over the Australia Day long weekend, remains one of the largest and most popular on Surf Life Saving WA’s calendar, with members travelling from across the state to attend the all-ages event.

With the 2027 Australia Day public holiday falling on a Tuesday, and no three-day long weekend, City of Bunbury SLSC, with a long record of delivering an excellent event, is ideally located and equipped to host the event, which will be held over the weekend of the 23 – 24 January 2027.

In 2028, Denmark Surf Life Saving Club will be celebrating 70 years of serving its local community. In commemoration of this significant milestone, the event will return to Ocean Beach, providing an opportunity for the membership not only to help celebrate this achievement with the Club, but also to check out the new club rooms! The event will be held over the weekend of 22 – 23 January, with the Australia Day public holiday falling on the following Wednesday.

In 2029, the Esperance Goldfields SLSC has been awarded the event. With Australia Day falling on a Friday, the event is planned to take place across Friday, 26 and Saturday, 27 January to allow for more members to travel and take advantage of the long weekend. We look forward to returning to the spectacular Twilight Beach for a huge weekend of events.

The 2026 Fuel to Go & Play WA Country Championships and Country Carnival will be held at Middleton Beach, Albany, over the 24 – 25 January 2026. Entries open soon.

The Fuel to Go & Play WA Country Championships and Carnival are proudly supported by Healthway, promoting the Fuel to Go & Play message.
