A disappointing outcome of the COVID-19 pandemic was the associated restrictions on travel and public gatherings, meaning many of the scheduled 2020/21 national surf sports competitions, including Interstate Championships, were cancelled. As a result, no Western Suns teams toured this season.
In WA, we were fortunate to be able to host a nearly full surf sports season, which saw many outstanding performances from our WA athletes. To recognise the achievements of these athletes, we are excited to announce that the following teams have been selected;
- Western Suns Ocean/Beach Interstate Team
- Western Suns Youth Team
Congratulations to the fifty athletes (listed below) selected based upon their performances throughout the 2020/21 WA surf sport season, their performances during the 2020/21 SunSmart WA Surf Life Saving Championships, and their overall consistency.
In addition, based upon performances at the State Team Selection event that took place at the Secret Harbour Surf Boat Carnival in January 2021, we are delighted to announce the 2021 Western Suns Boat Rowers Team (teams listed below).
Congratulations to the following athletes, and thanks to Engine Swim, the official apparel supplier to the Western Suns.
