The in-school Surf Survival program teaches students vital skills to enjoy the beach safely. The six week, beach-based course, conducted by fully qualified surf lifesavers, will teach students important skills to manage the dynamic conditions of the WA coastline.

Students will learn how to identify hazards, understand waves and rips and have the opportunity to use nipper boards, rescue tubes and practice first aid and resuscitation. The in-school Surf Survival program offers three levels of learning:
  1. Surf Aware
  2. Surf Skill
  3. Surf Wise
In their school based year groups, students will progress through the three levels. Upon completion of each level students will receive a certificate to recognise their acquired learning outcomes.
