WA representative athletes named

With a number of team selection events held over recent months, Surf Life Saving WA would like to congratulate the following athletes who have been selected to represent Western Australia as members of the Western Suns Teams at the Surf Life Saving Australian Interstate Championships.

After two years of COVID-19 cancellations, the Interstate Championships are set to take place on 16 January 2023 at Maroubra Beach, New South Wales. The last Championships in 2020 saw the Western Suns Team take the podium placing third.

Also facing selection were those athletes to be named in WA’s two Super Surf Teams League teams, with competition to precede the Interstates at Maroubra Beach from 13 – 15 January 2023.

WA will be fielding two teams at this event and, with the Scarboro Sunsets taking out the inaugural trophy when the team last competed in 2020, expectations are high.

The selected athletes have also been given the opportunity to contest both the Manly and Freshwater Carnivals being held Friday 20-22 January 2023.
