Surf Life Saving WA (SLSWA) and Healthway have announced a new three-year partnership, which will promote the importance of healthy eating to members and athletes.
SLSWA has enjoyed a long-standing partnership with Healthway, including as the naming rights partner of its summer surf sports season. The partnership has promoted the SunSmart message, which emphasises the importance of sun-protective behaviours for competitors and surf life saving members who are active during the summer months.
While these practices will continue to be a focus for SLSWA, the new partnership will promote healthy eating through the Fuel to Go & Play message.
SLSWA CEO James O’Toole said they were looking forward to working collaboratively with Healthway and their members to promote healthy eating throughout the clubs.
“The promotion of healthy lifestyles fits perfectly with our mission of building healthy and resilient communities.”
Healthway CEO Colin Smith said he was proud of Healthway’s continued partnership with SLSWA, an organisation that plays a crucial role in creating healthy lifestyle behaviours for Western Australian children, young people, and families.
“SLSWA has a long history of promoting and creating healthy environments for its members and the wider community,” he said.
“We look forward to working with them to create environments that promote healthy eating behaviours for all members of their community.”
END.
