woodside jet ski teams

Introduced into Western Australia in 2003, our motorised rapid response jet skis assist surf lifesaving beach patrols and other emergency response units and have become an essential tool of the trade for our surf life saving clubs.

Operating from more than 28 locations along the West Australian coast, our Woodside Jet Ski Teams deliverĀ  multi-level, rapid response service to deliver beach safety outcomes.

This is done through the delivery of weekend beach patrols and water safety by clubs for programs such as Woodside Nippers, event safety at community events such as mass participation open water swims, and the exceedingly dangerous Western Zone abalone fishing season, which runs from December through February each year; and through our Emergency Response Teams, which can be called upon at any time to perform search and rescue services.

Able to patrol long stretches of coastline quickly, helping keep beach users safe. The rapid, motorised response units play a vital role in our lifesaving services, enabling patrols of long stretches of coastline to help keep beach users safe, both in and out of the red and yellow flags. Supported and facilitated by SLSWA, 26 clubs are now able to integrate Jet Skis into their patrol services.

Our Woodside Emergency Response Jet Ski Teams are also on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and can be tasked by WA Police and other emergency service organisations to assist with rescues, searches, and other specific missions and activities. This includes assistance in performing rescues under difficult conditions, as well as early morning surveillance patrols of swimmers along the Perth coast.

The program is proudly partnered by Woodside Energy and supported by the Government of Western Australia.
