Woodside Nippers

Want your child to be part of a fun and active community? Join the club!

Surf life saving is an amazing activity for growing a child’s confidence, as well as providing a strong foundation of knowledge and skills in the beach environment. Our Woodside Nippers junior surf awareness and beach safety program for kids 5 – 12 years is a great way for kids to make new friends, gain water confidence, be involved in healthy outdoor activity, and develop vital surf skills!

Surf Awareness

Not only are surf skills required in conquering conditions, but a knowledge of where the dangers are and how to read the surf are essential ingredients in keeping safe at the beach.

Lifesaving Skills

This learning area starts to introduce our nippers to the role we hope they undertake as they grow and develop into future lifesavers.

Surf Sports Skills

Nippers learn a variety of skills to help them develop confidence and introduce them to surf life saving’s various surf sport events. Offered at 31 locations throughout Western Australia, with programs kicking off from October, we also offer the Woodside Nippers All Abilities Program at both regional and metro clubs.

SurfBabies & SurfKids

Our six-week SurfBabies and SurfKids programs are designed for children aged 2 to 7 years and their parents, teaching essential beach safety knowledge and skills through fun and interactive activities.

Held at ten metropolitan and regional beaches across WA, these six-week courses kick off in October and January and take place on Saturday mornings. Through play and age-appropriate activities, they familiarise children and parents with the beach and ocean environment.

Registrations for 2026/27 are now open and locations are filling quickly, so don’t delay!
