Freo Ocean Classic

The Freo Ocean Classic (opens in a new tab) formerly known as the Leighton Swim Thru is celebrating its 41st year in 2023. To celebrate, we’re going back to our roots and offering the two distance swims we’re known best for, those being a 3200m swim and a 1600m swim.
The swim is at Leighton Beach hosted by Fremantle SLSC (opens in a new tab) on Saturday 28th January 2023 from 7:45am. Delicious breakfast will be available on the day.
Distances
- 3200m Swim (12 years and older)
- 1600m Swim (11 years and older)
- 150m Guppy Swim (8 to 10 years)
- 50m Taddie Wade (4 to 7 years)
Schedule
- Registration closes at 7.40am
- Briefing starts at 7.45am
- 3200m race starts at 8 am
- 1600 m race starts at 8.10am
- Taddie Wade starts at 8.45am
- Guppy Swim starts at 8.55am
Prizes
- $1300 worth of cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female swimmers across the line in the 2 major events
- Medals and ice-creams for the children’s events
- Great age group prizes
Raffle tickets will be available online when registering or on the day with hundreds of dollars of raffle prizes to be drawn on the day.
