This exciting school holiday program gives kids the chance to experience what being a Surf Life Saving Nipper is all about!
Run by qualified surf lifesavers, the Holiday Nippers program is all about fun as participants take part in a range of lifesaving and surf sport activities giving them an insight into what it’s like to be a real lifesaver in training! They may even choose to go on and become a member of their local Surf Life Saving Club.
Our lifesavers will share their extensive beach knowledge and teach participants an array of skills in a fun and social environment. This includes learning to read ocean conditions and use a range of surf lifesaving equipment, including rescue tubes and Nipper boards.
Adapted from Surf Life Saving WA’s Nipper Program, Holiday Nippers offers participants three skill-based levels of learning;
- Surf Aware 8:30 – 9:30am
- Surf Safe 9:45 – 10:45am
- Surf Smart 11:00am – 12:00pm
As a parent, you’ll be asked to select your child’s level based on their demonstrable competencies and previous experiences in aquatic programs. Participants must demonstrate the required skills in the first class to confirm their level.
