Cost Benefit Analysis
SLSWA provides crucial lifesaving and education services to keep the WA community safe along our coast. Our highly trained volunteers identify the dangers in the water and act to keep beach-goers safe.
However, we want to ensure we’re providing a consistent and superior service for our community. And that we’re utilising your support as effectively as possible.
Deloitte Access Economics was engaged by SLSWA to estimate the economic value of SLSWA’s activities to the Western Australian community – your community. As a result, a Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) was completed to measure the associated costs and benefits of SLSWA’s operations to its volunteer members, the community, SLSWA itself and you – our generous supporters.
The basis of a CBA is simple: it compares the total costs to the community of SLSWA’s services with the total benefits generated to and by members. This determines whether the benefits outweigh the costs, and by how much. The CBA focuses on those services offered to members by SLSWA and community benefits generated by SLSWA members.
This project was an investment in our community. In effect, it measured exactly how much benefit SLSWA provides… and what your support is really worth.
