We would love to be able to welcome you to our Wave of the Future community, and send you updates so you can see the impact of support just like yours. What will happen after I advise SLSWA I’ve left a gift in my Will?
Once you’ve let us know you’ve left a gift in your Will, you’ll be welcomed into the Wave of the Future community. As a valued member of this community, you will receive updates on the impact of people like you to save lives on our West Aussie beaches. You will also have the opportunity to tell us personally how you wish your gift to be recognised.
How do I leave a gift in my Will?
After taking care of your family and loved ones, you may be considering including a gift in your Will to your chosen charitable organisation. We suggest that you seek advice from a lawyer when drafting your Will. The wording is very important and your lawyer can advise you about the different types of gifts and what is best for your circumstances.

To provide a gift to SLSWA in your Will, you may need the following details:

What words should I use to include a gift to SLSWA in my Will?
We suggest that you seek advice from a lawyer when drafting your Will. The following suggested clauses are for guidance only, are not legal advice, and may be changed to suit your individual needs.
Residual Bequest
After making provision for your family and loved ones, you can choose to give all or a percentage of the balance of your estate to Surf Life Saving Western Australia.
Sample wording: I give all (or percentage) of the residue of my estate to Surf Life Saving Western Australia Incorporated (ABN: 38 926 034 500) for its general purposes. I declare that the receipt of the treasurer or other proper officer of SLSWA shall be a sufficient discharge to my executors or trustees.
Specific Bequest
You may wish to gift a specific sum of money or an asset to Surf Life Saving Western Australia in your Will.
Sample wording: I give (sum of $ / description of asset) to Surf Life Saving Western Australia Incorporated (ABN: 38 926 034 500) for its general purposes. I declare that the receipt of the treasurer or other proper officer of SLSWA shall be a sufficient discharge to my executors or trustees.
A Bequest to a specific Surf Life Saving Club
While your gift to Surf Life Saving Western Australia will assist our wider West Australian community, you may have a specific Surf Life Saving Club you would like a gift in your Will to be directed to. Surf Life Saving Western Australia will distribute 100% of your gift to the club of your choice.
Sample wording: I give (sum of $ / percentage of residue / description of asset) to Surf Life Saving Western Australia Incorporated (ABN: 38 926 034 500) specifically for ________ Surf Life Saving Club. I declare that the receipt of the treasurer or other proper officer of Surf Life Saving Western Australia shall be a sufficient discharge to my executors or trustees.
