My Beach

Forty-eight youth members from 24 surf life saving clubs ventured to Pemberton Camp School last week for the annual Rise Up Camp.

The happy campers spent four days on the camp, where each day was filled with various challenging activities, such as constructing rafts which had to be paddled in the brook (floating of course!), canoeing in the 30°+ heat was a favourite and a morning yoga session which was led by camp-participant Michael.

A camp highlight was the mountain biking activity, where several of the campers experienced some truely rugged landscapes!

As part of the camp, 38 participants also gained their Advanced Resuscitation Techniques Certificate, with those who already had their ARTC lending a helping hand to the rest of the group.

Here’s what some of the participants had to say about Rise Up Camp 2020:

“I would recommend others to go on this camp because it’s really cool to meet people from all over WA.”

“I couldn’t say anything bad about this camp if I tried. Thanks for the legendary memories!”

All in all, it was another successful year of Rise Up Camp! Fantastic friendships were formed with SLSWA youth members from all around the state.

We thank the Scottish Masonic Charitable Foundation of WA for their continued support of our youth programs, which includes the Rise Up and TOAD Camps.
