SLSWA is now accepting applications to fill Lifeguard roles in the 2019/20 season!

The minimum requirements for a SLSWA lifeguard are:

  • SLSA Bronze Medallion or equivalent
  • Advanced Resuscitation Techniques Certificate or equivalent
  • Current Provide First Aid Certificate or equivalent
  • Current “C” Class driving licence or equivalent
  • 18+ years of age when you attempt the Lifeguard Capability Assessment
  • Be eligible to obtain a Working With Children’s Check
  • Hold a police clearance no more than 3 months old

The Lifeguard Capability Trial consists of the following:

  • 400m Pool Swim in under 7min 30sec
  • 100m Rescue Tube Rescue
  • 200m Rescue Board Rescue
  • Lifeguard Mission in under 25min
    • 800m beach run
    • 400m open water swim
    • 800m beach run
    • 400m open water board paddle

If you successfully complete the Lifeguard Capability Trial, you may be invited to an employment interview, and furthermore to attend an upcoming Lifeguard Induction Program.

Applications can be made by competing the Lifeguard employment application form and returning it to the lifesaving team.
