DESCRIPTION:It is a generic trainers course covering teaching theory\, lesson structure\, communication skills\, skill development and documentation. This course gives you the WA Training Officers Award. \nOnce you have this award\, complete a logbook for the course you are interested in teaching e.g\, Bronze Medallion\, IRB etc\, and be signed off by a club mentor. \nThis course is delivered over 2 sessions. You will need to attend both sessions \n\nSession 1: Wednesday\, 21 August (6:30 pm- 9:30 pm)\nSession 2: Saturday 24 August (9 am – 12 pm)\n\nPre-requsites: \nSLS – Child Safe Awareness (takes about 20mins)\nSLS – Surf Risk Rating (takes about 20mins)\nMinimum age is 16\nThese modules can be found in the eLearning section of the members area. \nComplete pre-course activities in the WA Training Officer Course Portfolio. This can be found in the Members Area Library. DESCRIPTION:The Young Leaders Camp caters to members between the ages of 18 and 25 and provides the opportunity to participate in a range of physical and social activities to develop personal leadership skills. \nThrough a range of physical and social activities\, attendees will explore and develop their personal leadership styles\, meet with SLSWA leaders\, and participate in advanced coasteering where they will use skills developed over the camp. \nAttending this camp is highly recommended for any member interested in attending the SLSA National Leadership College (NLC) or National Leaders’ Masterclass. \nThe inaugural camp will be held at the SLSWA South West Development Centre in Margaret River\, from Friday 23 – Sunday 25 August\, 2024. For members of regional clubs\, travel subsidies are available to assist with the cost of attendance. \nFull details including costs\, nomination and endorsement process\, and the online nomination link can be found via Circular 5. \nNominations are to be completed online by the nominee no later than 5pm Friday\, 5 July 2024. \nAs this is the inaugural camp\, numbers are limited. For any enquiries\, please contact SLSWA Sport & Member Development Officer Maddison Walker.
