2023 Sunset Challenge

The Sunset Challenge is a major event on the Broome Surf Life Saving Club calendar. Over the years it has become a favoured carnival in which competitors from all over Australia come to enjoy the mix of friendly competition and a visit to paradise.

July in Broome is the peak of the tourist season so intending competitors and visitors are strongly encouraged to book early for flights and accommodation. It is encouraged you contact the Broome Visitor Centre

Over the Sunset Challenge weekend, all participating clubs are asked to assist with the set-up and take down of competition areas. There will be social get together and award presentations after the completion of events on Sunday afternoon.

Entries

Entry fees are $20 per person and allow entry into all age group events. Registrations are in-person as detailed within the attached Event Program, below.

Age Categories

• Nippers: U8, U9, U10, U11, U12, U13
• Youth: U14, U15, U17
• Open
• Masters

Schedule

• Refer attached Event Program
• Fri 7 July: Registrations only, from 3pm to 5pm
• Sat 8 July: Registrations from 8am – 8.45am. Events run 9am – 6pm
• Sun 9 July: Events run 9am – 3.30pm. Presentation and wind-up to follow.
