The in school Surf Survival program teaches students vital skills to enjoy the beach safely.
The six week, beach based course conducted by fully qualified surf lifesavers, will teach students important skills to manage the dynamic conditions of the WA coastline.
Students will learn how to identify hazards, understand waves and rips and have the opportunity to use nipper boards, rescue tubes and practice first aid and resuscitation.
The in school Surf Survival program offers four levels of learning:
- Surf Aware
- Surf Skill
- Surf Wise
- Surf Rescue*
In their school based year groups, students will progress through the four levels. Upon completion of each level students will receive a certificate to recognise their acquired learning outcomes. Senior students will also have the opportunity to obtain their Surf Rescue Certificate*
*participants must be 13 years of age to obtain their Surf Rescue Certificate
