Rescue Crew

As rescue crew I am responsible for ensuring that all beach goers are safe, whether that be spotting sharks, rips, and other hazards, as well as being rescue ready for any situations that may arise along the coast. And of course, having fun and enjoying the views of the coastline.

I primarily work on the Metro Service.

Favourite WA Beach?

Coogee Beach

Favourite holiday destination and why?

The North West – the best snorkelling spots at Ningaloo reef, gorgeous beaches and perfect temperatures. You can’t get much better than that.

What inspired you to join the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter Service?

I’ve been involved a lot with surf lifesaving and this is something that I hadn’t done before and would really test my skills and abilities. It’s another great way to get involved in the movement, ensuring everyone can enjoy the beach safely, and meet new people with the same passion too.

What motivates you to work for the service and help the community?

I love going to the beach at any chance I get, and I am fortunate enough to have the ability to do this and the knowledge to do it safely. I want to make sure that everyone in WA also has this opportunity and their time at the beach can be one that is fun, enjoyable and isn’t interrupted by any unfortunate circumstances. I just want everyone to enjoy it as much as I do!

Do you have any aspirations in aviation?

Currently nothing other than the service, although you never know. I might love it and want more.

If you were stranded on an island what three things would you bring with you?

Sunscreen, bathers and snacks!
