Western Australia has an extensive coastline and paddling is an integral part of how we use it. Encompassing recreational kayaking, ocean paddling events, surf life saving events and adventure racing, an individual’s safety is influenced by their ability to make informed decisions regarding their capability and preparedness to paddle in certain environments and conditions.
SLSWA has partnered with the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and Paddle WA to develop the Ocean Paddling – Be Safe program designed to guide safe participation, management and organisation of ocean paddling in WA – Download the brochure here.
The Ocean Paddling – Be Safe Recreational Paddling Framework and supporting Recreational Paddling Guide has been developed to guide the safety of individuals participating in recreational ocean paddling along our WA coastline – Download the Participation and Safety Guide here.
