Surf Life Saving WA has worked very hard with the Curriculum Council to achieve acknowledgment for the learning and value of our Surf Rescue Certificate and our Bronze Medallion / Cert II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue).
This initiative that has given Surf Life Saving WA an opportunity to see that our youth members are rewarded for the extra learning that they have achieved outside of school curriculum. The learning that they have achieved by completing our awards can be added to their Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE).
This initiative began in 2007 and will provide an opportunity for all secondary students from year 10 to 12 to have specified awards from Surf Life Saving recognised by the curriculum council in WA.
SLSWA will work closely with schools and our members and clubs to ensure that the best outcome is reached by all concerned.
