A highlight of the Junior Surf Life Saving Championships is always the Westpac Coin Hunt and this year was no exception with 20 Nippers representing their clubs for the chance to win $500 for the club.
The idea behind the competition is that an area is marked off and a number of large silver and one winning gold coin are buried in the sand at day break and Nippers then head into the coin hunt arena to dig and search for the winning gold coin. This year’s coin hunt went the distance with at least five minutes of frantic digging before the winning gold coin was found by Tom from Geraldton SLSC. With thanks to Westpac Geraldton Surf Life Saving Club will receive $500.

A number of nippers also found silver coins and Lee and Gary from Westpac generously decided on the day to award $50.00 to each of the clubs who found a silver coin.

Thanks to Westpac for their support of this initiative and for the ongoing support of Surf Life Saving WA and our clubs.
Cheques will be sent out to winning clubs in the coming weeks.
