Juniors

What is a nipper?
Our junior/nipper programs offer members aged 5 through to 14, a fun and interactive environment at the beach. Children in these age groups develop a broad range of valuable skills to help expand their knowledge and grow into future lifesavers.

At each of the Sunday club mornings, children are encouraged to participate in all activities to give themselves the opportunity to grow and improve their skills and confidence. To find out how you and your family can become involved, check out our ‘beaches’ section of the website and contact your nearest club.

Last season over 1000 young nippers across the state showed their competitive prowess in a number of local and State Surf Life Saving competitions. This year in the 2011/12 season, the competitive nipper age groups, from Under 11's through to Under 14's, will participate in more action-packed Sunday's filled with plenty of adventures and development along the way.

Keep your calendar clear for these fun-filled events:

WA JUNIOR STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

  • Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th March 2012, Fremantle SLSC

For more information on this year’s junior events, please visit the SLSWA Planning Calendar for more details.

Don’t forget, before each child is eligible to compete, they need to participate in a preliminary skill evaluation and competition skill evaluation, as detailed in Circular 20-1112- Junior Surf Education and Activity requirements for 1112

Please make sure these requirements are completed before competing in any junior carnival this season.
