The Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter and South West Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter consists of the following Crew members: 

• Pilot                           
• Crew Chief                   
• Senior Crew                 
• Air Crew                 
• Rescue Swimmer      

Required Crew Qualifications

• Senior first aid
• Surf Life Saving Bronze medallion
• Advanced resuscitation techniques
• Spinal Management
• 400m pool swim under 7.5 minutes (preferably under 7 minutes)
• 800m beach run, 400m surf swim, 800m beach run, 400m board paddle under 25 mins
• 25m underwater, 25m surface swim under 50 seconds (have to swim full 25m underwater in 1 breath)

Additional Information:

• A minimum of 3 crew will operate the service at any one time (1 x pilot, 1 x air crew, 1 x rescue crew).
• A maximum of 4 crew can be on duty (1 x pilot, 1 x air crew, 2 x rescue crew).
• At this point the crew will be required to be rostered for an entire weekend every month.
